Q.

What is your greatest accomplishment at Dougherty+Dougherty Architects?

A.

Bertha CerdaAs a team member at Dougherty + Dougherty, I think that one of my accomplishments has been overseeing the development and construction of an interpretative center for the City of Santa Ana.  It is a simple, yet complex building, benefiting not only the community, but also the sensitive environment around the facility.

Q.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A.

First and foremost, I see myself as a licensed architect.  I see myself being a partner for a successful firm or possibly having my own.  In the back of my head, I also see or would like to pursue my Master’s Degree with an emphasis in seismic structures.

Q.

What are your interests, beyond your profession?

A.

Spending time with my family.  I enjoy doing volunteer work when my schedule permits.  I enjoy learning to dance and love traveling.

Q.

If you could be any sports figure, who would you be
and why?

A.

I don’t know of any particular figure that I would like to be, but I if I had to choose I would say a racecar driver like Mario Andretti.  He loved what he did and had fun doing it.

What do you wish to gain from Women Who Win in 2009?

A.

The opportunity to learn from the wonder and success of women who participate in Women Who Win.  I look forward to joining upcoming events and spending time with other professionals.
